Frequently asked questions

Importing recipes

How do I save a recipe?
Tap the + button on the Home screen and choose how you found it: paste a website link, paste a TikTok or Instagram link, snap a photo of a cookbook page or screenshot, or type it in by hand. SupperBoard cleans it up and shows it to you before it's saved, so you can keep it, tweak it, or toss it.

A social post wouldn't import.
Social imports work best when the recipe is written in the caption, or the post links out to the recipe. If a post only says "comment for the recipe" with nothing to read, there may be nothing to import. Try pasting the creator's website link instead.

Can I fix a recipe after importing?
Yes. Open the recipe, tap the three dots, and choose Edit recipe. You can edit any ingredient or step in place, reorder them, or add and remove items, then save.

Cooking and groceries

How does cook mode work?
Open a recipe and tap Start cooking for large, step-by-step instructions with per-step ingredients and timers.

What is the pantry for?
It's the list of what you already have at home, so SupperBoard can stop putting it on your shopping list. Mark something as in the pantry and it drops off the groceries you need to buy. Le Sous Chef reads it too, so you can ask what to cook with what's already in the house.

How do I get a grocery list?
Open a recipe and tap Add to groceries, or build a list with Le Sous Chef. From your grocery list you can send items to Apple Reminders.

Le Sous Chef

What can Le Sous Chef do?
Le Sous Chef is your AI cooking companion. Ask for a meal plan, a substitution, "what can I make with what I've got," or a new recipe. When they suggest a recipe, or a change to one of yours, it arrives as a recipe card with a button, so you can save it or update the card in one tap. You always review it first.

Its suggestions are just ideas, right?
Yes. Le Sous Chef's answers are AI-generated suggestions and can be wrong. Use your own judgment, especially around food safety.

Nutrition and Health

Are the nutrition numbers exact?
No. They're estimates from the ingredient list, not lab measurements. Allergy flags are a convenience, not a guarantee. Always read labels, and talk to a professional for medical or dietary needs. Where the nutrition numbers come from explains exactly how the estimate is made and lists the public sources you can check it against.

How does the Apple Health export work?
After estimating nutrition, tap to log a serving to Apple Health. SupperBoard only writes to Health; it never reads your health data.

Sync and devices

How does syncing work?
If you're signed into iCloud, your recipes, lists, and taste profile sync through your own private iCloud across your devices. There's no separate account and no password to remember. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID on each device, and that SupperBoard is switched on under iCloud in Settings (tap your name, then iCloud). Profile in the app shows whether your cookbook is backed up, with Back up now.

Recipe changes or photos not syncing?
Please update SupperBoard to the latest version from the App Store.

Is there an Apple Watch app?
Yes, your grocery list on your wrist, grouped by aisle. Install it from the Watch app on your iPhone.

SupperBoard+ (subscriptions)

What is SupperBoard+?
It unlocks the AI features. It's available as a monthly or a yearly auto-renewing subscription. Current pricing is shown in the App.

What do I get without paying?
Your whole cookbook, and no cap on how many recipes you keep. Saving, organizing and editing recipes, cook mode with timers, grocery lists, the pantry and the Apple Watch app are all free. You also get a free taste of the AI features, currently 5 AI-assisted imports a week, and 5 Le Sous Chef messages and 3 nutrition estimates a month. The imports reset each week and the rest each month. And you can play one round of the taste game, free.

Is SupperBoard+ unlimited?
Generous, but not unlimited. There's a monthly fair-use ceiling, currently 500 Le Sous Chef messages and 200 AI-assisted imports, which is far above normal home cooking. If you reach it, the AI features pause until the month rolls over and we'll tell you plainly why. Everything else, your whole cookbook, cook mode, timers and groceries, keeps working.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. On your iPhone, go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, choose SupperBoard, and manage or cancel there. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

I paid but don't see my features.
Open the App and use Restore Purchases, and make sure you're signed in with the Apple ID you bought it with. If it still doesn't appear, email us.

Can I get a refund?
Purchases go through Apple, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Privacy and your data

Where is my data?
On your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud. We don't have accounts and can't see your recipes. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my data?
Delete individual recipes and lists in the app, delete the app to clear its data from a device, or manage its iCloud data in Settings → [your name] → iCloud. Because we hold no personal data on our servers, there's nothing on our side to delete.
