An independent studio for iPhone and iPad. No clients, no committees. Just a small number of apps we'd want on our own devices, made deeply and sweated to the last detail. We start with food and travel, with room to roam.

Our story

First we wish it existed. Then we build it.

Every Gastronaut Labs app starts as a selfish wish. A tool we want on our own devices when we're hungry, curious, and standing in a new city with an evening to fill. If it doesn't exist yet, that's the whole reason to build it.

The first one we shipped is SPOT, a taste-first planner that turns a vibe into a real night out or trip, built around what you actually like. We made it because we wanted it. Then the next idea showed up, and the one after that.

So the wishing became a studio. Gastronaut Labs designs and builds apps in-house for iPhone and iPad, for people who plan their lives around what's worth tasting, seeing, and sharing. We start with food and travel, and follow our curiosity from there. The rule stays simple: if we wouldn't reach for it every week, we don't ship it.
